I did some stories, and plan to make more, about the strange world with legal slavery. So there is the introduction to this world, what is it and what rules it has, just to make my stories more clean.
The future came and now there is no famine, no diseases, no more poverty, and even weather is under full control. But mankind faces new challenge: there is no more need to work, no need to strive ... and this is the way of degradation. Some countries changed the laws and gave to he people the choice to decide who they are the slaves or free people.
Free people must work, must keep this world. They are paying full price, and much more for everything, without excuses. Want to be free - answer for your choice and decisions. Fight, work, create - the world is in your hands, but every fault is your fault.
And slaves. Slave has anything for free: food, medicine, shelter. Free world pays for all needs, but it also mean that slave has no rights at all. Slave belongs to the owner, and owner pays for slave, or slave can live in slave camps, till somebody take him/her.
The mighty medicine can handle any wounds, revive in case of death, rollback age, change the appearance, race or even sex without any consequences - so many times as it needed. And for slave it means that owner can do any change with the slave body, and this is common practice to update new slave to owner needs.
The choice is not final - any free can declare his/her slavery, as well as any not owned slave can return to the free life (after minimal slavery period) and make another try.
Now people can live much longer, but it means that some birth control is required. So it's prohibited to impregnate anyone without the license, and especially slaves are to take care about it. In case of free people it will be just huge fine, but in case of slave - the punishment can be extremely severe.
Impossible? Who knows ...
